Today, Polish MFA Undersecretary of State Marek Prawda and Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania Megi Fino held talks to review bilateral relations and discuss Albania’s integration process with the EU. Both sides underlined the very good state of bilateral relations. They agreed on the need for both countries to further enhance mutual contacts, not only at the level of state authorities but also people-to-people ties—academic collaboration, tourism, and cooperation between local governments. There is still large potential to develop trade and mutual investments.

Deputy Minister Prawda declared that enlargement policy is among the priorities of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council, with Poland actively supporting Western Balkan partners in the European integration process. Albania, which has recently managed to open accession negotiations in two clusters, is becoming one of the leaders of the enlargement process.

In this context, Deputy Minister Prawda reiterated Poland’s offer made by Minister Radosław Sikorski during his visit to Tirana in December 2024 to support Albania’s European integration process with the knowledge and experience of Polish administration. The Polish proposal includes expert support in such areas as regional development, absorption of EU funds, strategic management in cohesion policy, public procurement, and public administration’s capacity building in the negotiation and accession process.
