Deputy Heads of Diplomatic Representations of Poland and Tajikistan

25.06.2021

“Tajikistan remains Poland’s partner in Central Asia, both in terms of international policy and the local approach” – stated Deputy Minister Mr. Marcin Przydacz after the talks with the Deputy Head of Diplomatic Representation of Tajikistan – Mr. Muzaffar Huseinzoda.

Due to Tajikistan’s vicinity to Afghanistan, in whose stability Poland has been engaging for many years now, security is one of the most relevant issues for Poland and Tajikistan. The prospects of strengthening the relations look positive also in other areas, such as culture and science. “We are thankful to Tajikistan for good cooperation with organizing flights of Polish special planes to Afghanistan – the fact that they were able to stop over in Dushanbe was a prerequisite for the successful conclusion” explained Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz. The year 2021 marks the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan gaining independence. “For this reason, we wish to congratulate all the citizens of the country”, he added.

Deputy Ministers agreed that they see the potential to intensify bilateral relations also in terms of economy. We continue to express our feeling of solidarity when the entire world is facing such challenges as the COVID-19 pandemic. A proof of that is the Polish medical mission sent to Tajikistan by the Polish Centre for International Aid in June 2020.

The meetings of the Deputy Heads offered a great opportunity to exchange views on the intensification of cooperation in Central Asia and other aspects of international policy. “We feel good about our international cooperation and hope to continue and develop it during Poland’s presidency of the OSCE in 2022”, emphasised Mr. Przydacz. “Tajikistan is also included in the European Union’s strategy focused on Central Asia, which is another potential platform for developing our relations”, he added.
