Minister Nchemba encouraged Polish businesses to invest in Tanzania, including in a flagship government project to extend the railway network between the seaport of Dar es Salaam and Central Africa, which is set to become the longest rail link of this type on the continent.
The deputy head of Polish diplomacy recalled the historical links between Poland and Tanzania going back to the presence of Polish exiles during the Second World War in what was then Tanganyika and their very good relations with the local communities there. Deputy Minister Radwan-Röhrenschef also underscored the priority character of development cooperation between Poland and Tanzania. Referring to Zanzibar’s increasing popularity among Polish tourists, she encouraged Tanzanian authorities to open a diplomatic mission in Poland.
