The event, co-hosted by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Iwao Horii, gathered representatives of twenty-one countries and organisations.

During the talks, Ukraine’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba set out the current situation in Ukraine and the country’s pending needs resulting from Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure.

Deputy Minister Gerwel underlined that it is necessary to provide further energy support to Ukraine and reaffirmed Poland’s role as an important logistic hub for channelling assistance to warring Ukraine. He also mentioned Poland’s co-leadership in delivering on point three of the Peace Formula initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which is concerned with energy security.

Poland has supported Ukraine’s energy sector from the very beginning of the Russian aggression against that country. The support has been coordinated by the Ministry of Climate and Environment in cooperation with the Governmental Strategic Reserves Agency and Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A., a Polish transmission system operator.
