Deputy Minister Henryka Mościcka-Dendys meets Central European Initiative Secretary General Franco Dal Mas

Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Henryka Mościcka-Dendys met today with Secretary General of the Central European Initiative Franco Dal Mas. The deputy minister reiterated Poland's permanent engagement in the format and the importance of regional cooperation.
The talks covered key areas of cooperation between Poland and the Central European Initiative, especially support for the reforms and integration of the Western Balkan countries, Ukraine, and Moldova with European structures:
“Poland and the CEI fully agree on most issues. Once again, the time has come when regional cooperation is extremely important. The CEI has a major role to play, based on developing a valuable habit of good cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe,” stressed the deputy head of Polish diplomacy.
Secretary General Dal Mas noted the ongoing challenge posed by the need to revive the belief in the idea of the European Union among the youth in the prospective EU member states:
“Our efforts should focus not on the enlargement itself but on Europe’s re-unification”.
Deputy Minister Mościcka-Dendys confirmed Poland’s permanent engagement in the format and thanked her interlocutor for the support provided by the CEI to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. The officials agreed that continued support for Ukraine must remain a priority. The Polish diplomat also stressed the importance of expanding connectivity. The participants also discussed the prospects for EU enlargement in light of the European Commission's recently published annual reports on the progress made by candidate countries.
