The meeting, also attended by the head of the Academy, Ulrik Tiderström, and Sweden’s ambassador to Poland Andreas von Beckerath, was an opportunity to discuss Polish-Swedish relations. The agenda also included geopolitical challenges currently faced by the international community, and Poland’s role in the region. Deputy Minister Mościcka-Dendys outlined the tasks awaiting the modern consular service and the importance of relations with diaspora. Also discussed were the war in Ukraine, security in the Baltic Sea region, and the new context of cooperation which emerged upon Sweden’s joining NATO.

During a week-long study visit, 30 young diplomats toured Kraków and the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. In Warsaw, apart from the meeting with Deputy Minister Mościcka-Dendys, talks are also to be held at the MFA’s Diplomatic Academy. Young Swedish diplomats will also meet representatives of the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) and the Centre for Eastern Studies.
