Deputy Minister Przydacz underlined the important role of international development banks in mobilising additional funding for the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals. He recalled the cooperation between Poland and the EIB to achieve Polish priorities in this area: support for energy transition in the Eastern Partnership member states via Eastern Partnership Technical Assistance Trust Fund and tackle the challenges of the migration crisis through the Economic Resilience Initiative. “Cooperation with the EIB provides an excellent platform of dialogue between the donors and beneficiaries of the assistance, and countries in which the EIB operates,” said Deputy Minister Przydacz. He also noted that thanks to the decades of result-oriented investment under EU standards, the EIB is Poland’s natural partner in development cooperation.

Deputy Minister Przydacz met with EIB President Werner Hoyer to discuss Poland’s cooperation with the bank, also in the context of Polish companies’ contribution to EIB’s projects.

During his visit, Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz held meetings with representatives of the government of Luxembourg including his counterpart at the local MFA Olivier Maes. The interlocutors agreed that the involvement in the Western Balkans should remain a priority and the countries of the region should be given a real European perspective.

Polish deputy foreign minister also spoke with the diplomatic advisor to the Prime Minister of Luxembourg Patrick Hemmer. The officials discussed, among others, the impact of Russia’s confrontational policy.
