The deputy chief of Polish diplomacy started his visit with a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Anže Logar. The talks covered Polish-Slovenian bilateral relations as well as cooperation within NATO, the Three Seas Initiative and the European Union, including the priorities of Slovenia’s presidency of the Council of the EU starting in July 2021.
Next, Deputy Minister Jabłoński met with Secretary of State at the Slovenian MFA Stanislav Raščan and Bojan Pograjec, Slovenia’s national coordinator for the Three Seas Initiative and State Secretary at the PM’s Office. The talks focused on the two countries’ cooperation within the Initiative, including the implementation of joint economic and infrastructure projects, especially strengthening interconnectivity between our countries and enhancing the competitiveness of the Initiative member states’ economies. The officials also discussed cooperation within international organisations and joint actions in the area of development assistance and humanitarian aid.

Warsaw and Ljubljana attach great significance to the Three Seas Initiative, which is demonstrated by the fact that Slovenia is the second largest investor in the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund after Poland. We are pleased that Slovenia is, alongside Poland, one of the leaders of this currently most important format of regional cooperation in Europe - stressed Deputy Minister Paweł Jabłoński during the talks in Ljubljana.

The deputy head of Polish diplomacy started the second day of his visit with a lecture he delivered at the Diplomatic Academy of the Slovenian MFA. The minister focused on the priorities of Poland’s foreign policy, cooperation within the EU and NATO, good relations with the US as well as the ever closer integration of the Central Europe region. After the lecture, Deputy Minister Jabłoński continued consultations at the Slovenian MFA and the PM’s Office, which were followed by meetings that focused on the economic dimension of the visit. These included Deputy Minister Jabłoński’s meeting with representatives of the aviation sector that produce innovative unmanned flying units. Slovenian entrepreneurs were presented with the offer of the Aviation Valley in Rzeszów. The deputy chief of the Polish MFA also visited the Koper port which is one of key transport and logistics centres in the Central European region.

On the third day of the visit, the deputy head of Polish diplomacy continued economic consultations. Accompanied by President of the Management Board of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka, he held talks with presidents of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and the SID investment and development bank. The meeting focused on investment cooperation, particularly financing joint projects in digital, energy and transport infrastructure under the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund.
