Their talks centred on Ukraine’s reconstruction, including preparations for the forthcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference scheduled to take place in Rome between 10 and 11 July. The parties exchanged information on preparations for this year’s conference as well as one to be hosted by Poland next year.

Current bilateral issues were also discussed, including security policy. The interlocutors welcomed the achievements in cooperation on history matters. The officials agreed that the exhumation work in the former village of Puźniki marked a new stage for both Poland and Ukraine. In this context, the Polish deputy foreign minister also thanked the Ukrainian authorities for granting permission to begin archaeological and exhumation work in the village of Zboiska.

Additionally, participants took stock of the progress on accession negotiations with Ukraine under Poland’s EU Council presidency. Deputy Minister Prawda reaffirmed Poland’s willingness to continue supporting the Ukrainian administration in its preparations for EU accession negotiations.
