During the consultations, the diplomats jointly emphasised their very positive assessment of bilateral relations. Minister Bartoszewski stressed readiness to strengthen economic cooperation and to sign the Programme of Cooperation between Poland and Flanders for 2024–2026. He also pointed to the common historical ties, which are exemplified by this year's 80th anniversary of liberation of Flanders by the 1st Polish Armoured Division under Gen. Stanislaw Maczek.

Monday's meeting with Flanders' prime minister was also the opportunity to discuss further support for Ukraine and the future of transatlantic relations.
