Deputy Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski meets with Moldovan Minister of Internal Affairs

28.07.2025

Poland's ongoing support in implementing reforms necessary for Moldova's path to EU membership, cooperation in security and internal affairs, and assistance for Moldovan border and crisis response services were the focus of talks between Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski with Moldovan Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin. The talks were held in Warsaw on 28 July.

Meeting participants emphasised the importance of the strategic partnership between Poland and Moldova and the role that cooperation between the two states—in both political and practical dimensions—plays in building stability and regional security. Poland declared its continued and consistent support for Moldova’s European aspirations and full willingness to develop new initiatives that assist Moldova’s reforms.

The parliamentary election to be held in Moldova on 28 September was high on the meeting’s agenda. The voting will be crucial for consolidating the country’s pro-European course. As was expressed during the meeting, Poland fully supports free, fair, and transparent elections.

Poland and Moldova are currently working together on a number of training projects (in the framework of the Polish Aid programme and by implementing EU projects) intended for firefighting, rescue and other services responsible for internal security. The purpose of the training is to raise participants’ qualifications and build adequate crisis response structures.
