The panel was an opportunity to exchange opinions with representatives of different regions. Deputy Minister Gerwel underlined that the security architecture established after the Second World War, based on respect for international law, remains valid, but the rules set therein must be obeyed. In his opinion, by attacking Ukraine, Russia proved that it does not intend to play by these rules and attempts to introduce a new world order, based on chaos and the supremacy of force in international relations. Quite the opposite is Ukraine’s peace proposal (so-called Peace Formula), based on universal principles rooted in the United Nations Charter. The undersecretary of state at the Polish MFA also noted that in the face of Moscow’s illegal activity, it is necessary to defend values which enable states to develop freely.
