Deputy Minister Wojciech Gerwel visits Cambodia

On 24 and 25 May, the Undersecretary of State at the Polish MFA visited the Kingdom of Cambodia, taking part in another round of Poland-Cambodia political and economic consultations in Phnom Penh

Deputy Minister Wojciech Gerwel visits Cambodia

The Cambodian side was represented by Secretary of State Chem Widhya of Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The deputy ministers discussed key matters concerning bilateral cooperation, including economic relations. They also talked about cooperation in the fields of development, education, and culture. They shared views on international developments and spoke about Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and its global impact. The parties signed an intergovernmental agreement to waive visas for holders of diplomatic passports.

Deputy Minister Gerwel also paid a visit to a school for children with autism in Takhmao, a city in Kandal province, which has been supported with funds from Polish development assistance. Next the deputy minister took part in a meeting with representatives of the Cambodian business organised by Sarin Sar, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Phnom Penh, and met with Ambassador Carmen Moreno, Head of the EU Delegation in Phnom Penh.
