Poland’s top diplomat pointed out that European countries have to take coordinated action to exert greater impact on the US position in the negotiations with Russia and on Moscow’s perspective on the profitability of continuing the war. Minister Sikorski drew attention to the joint statement by the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, the UK, Finland, Poland, and EC President Ursula von der Leyen which reaffirmed that the path to peace in Ukraine cannot be decided without Ukraine. Ukraine must participate in all ceasefire and peace talks. We remain committed to the principle that international borders must not be changed by force.

In relation to the situation in the Gaza Strip, Poland underlined the need to increase EU’s pressure on Israel to respect international law and ensure access to humanitarian aid.
