The visit breathed new life into Polish–Pakistani political relations. The ministries of foreign affairs of both countries signed a new memorandum of understanding on cooperation, agreeing to hold bilateral political consultations on a yearly basis and engage in training exchanges, among other things.

The deputy prime minister presented the Pakistani side with a proposal of sectoral cooperation in various areas, including the energy sector, extractive industry, agri-food processing, public finance, water and wastewater management, and green technologies. An important part of the talks concerned security issues, such as the threat posed by the instrumentalisation of irregular migration, which is why the deputy prime minister was accompanied by Minister of the Interior and Administration Maciej Duszczyk.

The meeting also gave both sides an opportunity to discuss the most important global and regional issues, such as the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the Israel–Palestine conflict, and tensions in South Asia.

“Poland remains steadfast in its support for a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in Ukraine, and welcomes all efforts aimed at achieving such a peace. This peace should be based on the UN Charter and international law,” said Minister Radosław Sikorski.

The foreign minister also commented on the situation in the Middle East. He emphasized that Poland supports efforts for peace in Gaza and has recognised Palestine for decades, and added that a two-state solution is the basis for a peaceful coexistence of the two nations of the Middle East in the spirit of dignity and mutual respect.

Poland and Pakistan share a clear commitment to a rules-based system, international law, and multilateral cooperation. Pakistan is currently a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (2025–2026 term). The country has also been elected for a three-year term as a member of the Human Rights Council (as of 1 January 2026).

Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski was accompanied by Jarosław Ćwiek-Karpowicz, Director of the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM), one of the most important and largest analytical institutions in Central and Eastern Europe. It is supervised by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in terms of operations’ compliance with the law and provisions of the statute. During the visit, the PISM director concluded a cooperation agreement with the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad. Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski gave a lecture at the headquarters of this think-tank, which is supervised by the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The head of Polish diplomacy also met with Poles working in Pakistan and local foreign policy experts.
