During a ceremony accompanying this year’s celebration of Foreign Service Day, Minister Rau underlined that a career in diplomacy is both a distinction and a great commitment towards the Homeland, fellow citizens, and future generations. The mission of the foreign service is to pursue the interests of the Republic of Poland through cooperation in Europe and across the world to enhance security, democracy, and development. Especially now Polish diplomats have to take on extraordinary ventures of immense importance for our future, security and credibility.

The head of Polish diplomacy expressed his hope that the honour of being granted awards for long-time service to Poland will not only be an acknowledgement of the achievements to date but also a stimulus to keep up the hard work for the benefit of our country.
