EU Economic Department
The EU Economic Department carries out economic tasks in the European dimension.
A leading unit with respect to the horizontal processes of EU policies, it reviews the resolution laying down the Multiannual Financial Framework for the years 2014-2020. The Department further develops and implements climate and energy policy, including the EU Energy Union project. It designs the EU’s socio-economic policy, internal market policy, innovation policy and digital agenda. As part of its EU legislation ‘early warning system’, the Department takes Polish stakeholders on board when preparing Impact Assessments of the European Commission’s main legislative proposals. In cooperation with the competent ministries, the Department formulates Poland’s positions on economic strategies, reform of the Economic and Monetary Union, the Cohesion Policy, the Common Agricultural Policy, EU funding, energy, climate, trade and industrial policies as well as other sectoral policies.
