During the meeting, representatives of government agencies, business support organisations, and sole-shareholder companies of the State Treasury talked about cooperation between the government and Polish companies operating in foreign markets.

Guided by the necessity to safeguard Poland’s economic security and mindful of the need to forge new alliances, the Foreign Ministry has been working on a Map of Priority Foreign Markets. The purpose of the Map will be to help identify the opportunities and risks that shape the international political setting through economic relations established by Polish entrepreneurs.

“Modern challenges—from security threats to economic instability—affect us all. An effective foreign policy requires looking beyond divisions and thinking in terms of our raison d'état, but also strong, ambitious business partners that are well-established after the 20 years of operating within the European Union, ready for new challenges and having other tools at their disposal than the government does,” said Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski. The minister added that the current challenges ahead of Poland and its growing importance, bearing in mind that we are already close to being within the world’s twenty largest economies, pose new tasks for diplomacy. He pointed to the necessity of ensuring security, from military to economic, energy, raw material, technological, and food security, among other imperatives.
