The talks focused on the war in Ukraine. ​Minister Sikorski stated that it is necessary to develop a formula for a lasting peace and assured his interlocutor that Europe will keep supporting the fighting Ukraine as long as Ukraine needs it. The officials discussed the issue of using frozen Russian assets by the Western countries and the need to maintain effective sanctions against Russia. 

The meeting also covered transatlantic relations and bilateral cooperation, particularly in the military and energy fields. The interlocutors highlighted the importance of a Polish–American alliance and spoke about prospects for its further development. 

Minister Sikorski is the first European foreign minister outside of the Quint (a group consisting of the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Italy) to have met with Secretary Rubio.
