Halfway point of the Polish diaspora media pilot programme

From March to June 2025, the pilot programme saw the participation of more than 20 journalists of the Polish diaspora media from around the world. The programme was carried out on the initiative of the Polish MFA Department of Cooperation with Polish Community Abroad in close cooperation with the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies of the University of Warsaw.

Under the second stage of the programme, 17 graduates of the Polish diaspora media course will do one-week internships in Polish public media editorial sections: the Polish Press Agency, the Polish Radio, and Polish Television. The participants will take part in a mentorship and cultural programme, during which they will work on practical skills and learn about Poland.

The preparation stage of the pilot training courses, in particular the process of choosing the group interested in the training, was carried out with the help of journalists associated in the World Association of Polish Media (Światowe Stowarzyszenie Mediów Polonijnych) and the Federation of Polish Media in the East (Federacja Mediów Polonijnych na Wschodzie).

Polish diaspora media serve not only as a source of information, but also a tool of civic education. They also help integrate Polish community and promote Poland abroad. Supporting the professionalisation of the Polish media abroad is an investment in a stronger, better informed, and more united Polish community around the world.
