"Material and intengible Heritage of UNESCO in the Eastern Partnership Countries" exhibition opens

22.01.2019

“There is no better place to start reflecting on the Eastern Partnership on its 10th anniversary than the actual crossroads where people meet and come across each other,” Jan Hofmokl, the Director of the MFA’s Eastern Department and Foreign Minister’s Plenipotentiary for the Eastern Partnership, said during the inauguration of the exhibition.

The exhibition’s opening, which also inaugurated a ceremony marking 10 years since the establishment of the Eastern Partnership, took place on 22 January in the departure hall of the Warsaw Chopin Airport. The display shows the cultural heritage of Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.

The event was attended by Romanian Ambassador to Poland Ovidiu Dranga, who also represents the current EU Presidency, the ambassadors of the Eastern Partnership countries and other members of the diplomatic corps in Warsaw.

Celebration of the Eastern Partnership’s 10th anniversary is a pan-European initiative which covers EU Member States and the EU’s eastern neighbours. The anniversary will be marked by many cultural events, expert debates and conferences that will review the EP’s record and explore a new vision for the future of relations between the European Union and its eastern neighbourhood.

The exhibition features 30 photographs showing unique places, objects and people that are part of the heritage of the six countries from Eastern Europe and South Caucasus. It will be on show at the Warsaw Chopin Airport until 12 April 2019.
