In their talks, the top diplomats focused on exchanging opinions on the international situation and discussing the prospects for cooperation in areas including trade, direct investments, mining industry, transport, and agriculture.
The foreign ministers of Poland and Kazakhstan agreed that the underlying principles of the Charter of the United Nations, in particular sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, are fundamental to the present international order and should be respected as such by all countries. The Polish chief diplomat offered his interlocutor an assessment of the current situation in Eastern Europe. The consultations covered also the situation in Central Asia, including the integration processes in the region. Another major topic on the agenda concerned joint work for the development of transregional projects between the European Union and Central Asia and cooperation in terms of technical assistance. Moreover, the ministers talked about the outcome of the First European Union–Central Asia Summit, held in Samarkand this April.
The plenary talks were preceded by the ministers signing the Programme of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2025–2027.
