Meeting of Advisory Legal Committee of Minister of Foreign Affairs

On 28 June, the Advisory Legal Committee of the Minister of Foreign Affairs met for the second time this year. The meeting was attended by Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Piotr Wawrzyk.

Committee members discussed collective retaliatory measures as an instrument of customary international law. The rapporteur was Dr hab. Piotr Szwedo. 

The meeting’s other topic of the application of international law to cyberspace was briefed by Dr Konrad Marciniak, Director of the Legal and Treaty Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Advisory Legal Committee of the Minister of Foreign Affairs was established in 1999. It is currently composed of ten members and chaired by Prof. Cezary Mik. The Committee’s role is to provide analyses, opinions and legal expert opinions for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the field of international law, EU law, and domestic law.
