Meeting of Inter-ministerial Team for the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad

MFAs projects promoting return migration policy and the development of the Polish community media, as well as preparations for Polonia Camp 2025 were on the agenda of this weeks meeting of the Interministerial Team for the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad. The Team is responsible for the implementation of the Government Strategy for Cooperation with the Polish Community and Poles Abroad for 2025-2030.
Plans adopted by the Polish ministries to implement the Strategy goals were discussed during the meeting chaired by MFA Undersecretary of State Henryka Mościcka-Dendys. The deputy minister underlined that the MFA’s projects scheduled for 2025 meet the Strategy’s main goals, in particular to support the mobility of Polish communities, promote return migration policy, and develop Polish community media. She focused on the programme “Poland. Business Adventure,” which offers the opportunity to do professional internships in modern Polish companies and a training and internship project that allows Polish community journalists to improve their professional competences. She also elaborated on the cooperation with Statistics Poland to draft a comprehensive Atlas of Polish Presence Abroad, which will feature statistical data on the Polish diaspora across the world using state-of-the-art data presentation tools.
The meeting was also attended by Senator Bogdan Borusewicz, Chair of the Senate’s Emigration Affairs and Contacts with Poles Abroad Committee, who presented the results of a call for proposals held by the Polish Senate to support activities of the Polish diaspora. He also spoke about the preparations for Polonia_Camp 2025 scheduled for July.
The Team also considered remarks on the Strategy made by the Polish diaspora organisations during the public consultations. These remarks allowed the the government to better align its policy’s priorities with the needs of the Polish community.

The Government Strategy for Cooperation with the Polish Community and Poles Abroad for 2025–2030, adopted by the Council of Ministers, aims to promote return migration policy through supporting professional, educational, and research mobility programmes, popularise the teaching of Polish, especially as a foreign language, and improve the coordination of activities undertaken by the Polish community. Its goal is to modernise the instruments of cooperation with the Polish community, taking into account the development needs of the Polish economy and demographic forecasts.
