MFA statement on the so-called presidential election in Abkhazia

Poland does not recognise the legality of the so-called presidential election held in the Georgian region of Abkhazia by the separatist authorities in Sokhumi on 15 February 2025.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to emphasise that the Republic of Poland does not recognise any actions aimed at undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognised borders, including the said “presidential election”.

We reiterate our call on the Russian Federation to fulfil all obligations resulting from the peace agreement of 2008.
