MFA statement

28.08.2026

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has noted with concern yet another decision by the Israeli authorities that violates the principles of international law and is hostile to the United Nations and its specialised agency, UNRWA.

Statement

We share the view of the UN that the intrusion by Israeli security forces into the premises of the Kalandia Training Centre (UNRWA) in East Jerusalem on the 25th of this month constitutes a breach of the principle of the inviolability of UN premises, as derived from the Charter of the United Nations, the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations, and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice. We join the Secretary-General’s appeal to the Israeli authorities to cease immediately all interference with UNRWA premises, to vacate their grounds, and to restore the seized United Nations properties in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
