MFA statement

02.09.2026

In response to reports confirming Russia's responsibility for the attempted attack at Leipzig Airport in August, Poland expresses its solidarity with Germany in opposing Moscow's terrorist activities. We firmly oppose acts of sabotage and attempted hybrid attacks on the territory of NATO and EU member states. It remains our priority to strengthen the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union and ensure the security of our citizens and infrastructure. Russia's actions will not weaken our resolve to support Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor.

Statement

Poland will continue its efforts to ensure that Russia’s terrorist activities are met with an appropriate response from NATO and the EU. We are determined to see Russia subjected to new sanctions packages, particularly those aimed at limiting the capabilities of its defence and security apparatus.
