Minister Czaputowicz meets with Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich

“Poland has always been guided by the respect for Belarus’s sovereignty and identity,” said the chief of Polish diplomacy during yesterday’s talks with the chairman of the upper chamber of Belarusian parliament.

In their talks, the Polish foreign minister and the visiting chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus focused on bilateral relations and the situation of the Polish minority in Belarus. The discussions also explored Belarus’s cooperation with the European Union, including in particular this year’s tenth anniversary of the Eastern Partnership.

The participants also talked about regional security and the international formats of European security architecture. Minister Jacek Czaputowicz expressed his hope that the visit of Chairman Mikhail Myasnikovich would bring a fresh perspective to the Polish-Belarusian relations as two neighbouring nations.
