Hosted by Lithuania, the meeting will emphasise the unity of the initiative’s members with regard to the most serious security challenges inherent in our location along NATO’s eastern flank. The officials will also highlight the importance of a close transatlantic cooperation.

The Bucharest Nine — an initiative by Poland and Romania — was launched with a meeting between the two countries’ presidents in Warsaw in 2015. It was designed as a forum for exchanging views and coordinating positions on the security of NATO’s eastern flank countries. Its last meeting at the level of foreign ministers was held in Warsaw in 2017.
