Minister Pincher’s visit came five days after the United Kingdom left the EU. The visit was preceded by the presentation of the EU negotiating mandate and a speech of Prime Minister Boris Johnson on his vision regarding the prospects for the EU-UK relations.

The two ministers’ meeting was an opportunity to get acquainted with the British and EU positions, as well as presenting mutual expectations concerning future negotiations. Both the European Union and Great Britain assume that future economic cooperation should be grounded on a free trade agreement. “Our objective is for this agreement to be of the most ambitious nature,” said Minister Szymański.
