Minister of Foreign Affairs speaks with head of Tunisian diplomacy

Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau’s telephone call with Othman Jerandi focused on the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine triggered by the Russian aggression.

Minister Jerandi thanked Poland for an efficient evacuation of Tunisians from areas affected by the conflict. He conveyed gratitude on behalf of Tunisia’s president. He highlighted very positive coverage Poland has received in Tunisian media of its key role in taking in refugees and providing them with necessary aid.

The head of Tunisian diplomacy also said that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine was among the topics discussed at the League of Arab States ministerial conference, which concluded recently. He emphasised that delegations from other countries in attendance praised the assistance Poland provided to their citizens.

Minister Rau presented the activities carried out by Poland in response to the crisis and congratulated the Tunisian side on its decision to support the UN General Assembly resolution entitled “Aggression against Ukraine”. The interlocutors referred to the excellent state of the bilateral relationship and expressed the need for its further enhancement.
