Minister Radosław Sikorski speaks with head of diplomacy of the Arab Republic of Egypt

Speaking today with his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, the head of the Polish MFA appreciated the assistance extended by the Egyptian side to expedite the procedure to transfer the corpse of Damian Soból, a World Central Kitchen volunteer killed in an Israeli attack on a humanitarian aid convoy in the Gaza Strip.

The ministers talked as well about the present political and security situation in the Middle East. They both found it crucial to defuse regional tensions.

Also, the heads of the Polish and the Egyptian diplomacies discussed the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Poland has lent financial support to UN agencies working for the enclave’s civilian population. Poland also provided Egypt with material assistance to facilitate medical care of the injured evacuees from the Gaza Strip. Minister Sikorski assured his interlocutor that Polish aid will be continued.
