The talks focused on exploring the possibilities of multidimensional support for Ukraine, including further involvement of the Group states in complex assistance for that country. Minister Sikorski welcomed the measures taken by the Czech Republic to deliver artillery shells to Ukraine and urged the partners to provide Kyiv with military support. He also addressed the issue of circumventing sanctions and the necessity to continue the work on a new round of sanctions targeting Russia as well as Belarus. The minister highlighted those matters as strategically important for the interests of the Visegrad Group.

Referring to the role of the International Visegrad Fund, the top diplomats welcomed its contribution to strengthening the ties among the V4 societies and to supporting the Ukrainian people.

Today’s ministerial meeting was the first at this level and in this format since Czechia took over the presidency of the Visegrad Group on 1 July 2023.
