Minister Rau to visit Japan

05.05.2023

Between 9 and 12 May, Poland’s head of diplomacy Zbigniew Rau will visit Tokyo and Hiroshima.

Ministry of Foreign Affaires

During the visit, Minister Rau will hold political consultations with his Japanese counterpart, Yoshimasa Hayashi, to discuss current and prospective cooperation. The two ministers will also touch upon issues on today’s international agenda, including with regard to either country’s immediate neighbourhood. In particular, they will reflect on the situation in Ukraine and the mounting challenges to international security in East Asia.

In Hiroshima, Minister Rau will meet with municipal authorities and visit the Peace Memorial Museum.

The visit to Japan will emphasise the special importance of Poland–Japan relations, which were elevated to the rank of strategic partnership in 2015.
