The visit to Washington is a continuation of an intensive bilateral political dialogue between Poland and the US. An important item on the agenda of the visit will be talks with members of the US Congress, including Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, congressmen from the Polish Caucus, and members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives.

Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau will also take part in a panel discussion at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). He will address leading strategists and experts in international politics, outlining Poland’s assessment of the situation in Ukraine and security challenges in Central and Eastern Europe, also in the context of adapting the North Atlantic Alliance to threats posed by Russia. The event will also feature a discussion with the CEO of Atlantic Council, a high-profile think-tank.

Moreover, the head of the Polish MFA will visit the recently opened Victims of Communism Museum in Washington and the US Naval Academy in Annapolis. He will also hold meetings with representatives of the Polish community in the US.
