On Tuesday 7 February, Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau held a telephone conversation with his Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen.

Minister Zbigniew Rau congratulated his counterpart on assuming the office and expressed hope for cooperation that will contribute to strengthening relations between Poland and Israel in a spirit of mutual respect.

The ministers addressed current bilateral issues, including regulation of the organization of educational visits of Israeli youth to Poland. They also referred to preparations for the upcoming commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.

Addressing Russia's aggression against Ukraine, Minister Rau presented Poland’s assessment of the situation and encouraged the Israeli side to continue, and to increase support for Ukraine.
