Minister Zbigniew Rau meets with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Warsaw

On 20 October, Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau received – as part of the first visit – the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Warsaw, Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven.
The talks focused on the assessment of the state and prospects of bilateral relations, including issues related to trade and mutual relations between Polish and German societies. Referring to last week’s meeting of foreign ministers of Poland, Germany, and France in Paris, the discussion also covered the prospects for cooperation within the Weimar Triangle and emphasised the importance of historical experiences and historical awareness for the successful development of mutual relations.
The Federal Republic of Germany is our neighbour, a close EU partner currently holding the EU Presidency, and an ally in NATO. Maintained despite the restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the personal meetings confirm the intensity of bilateral political dialogue.
