“Poland wishes to develop its relations with sub-Saharan African countries in the spirit of mutual respect, partnership, and solidarity,” said Minister Rau, inviting the attendees to discussions on the regional situation and key elements of Polish-African and Euro-African relations.

The interlocutors exchanged views on challenges faced by the African continent in the area of politics, security, climate, economy and society, highlighting progress made to date and the need for further strengthening of capabilities of African countries to solve their problems and conflicts independently.

The discussions also covered long-term consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, including for the international legal order, global energy resources market, and Africa’s food security.

As regards bilateral relations, much attention was paid to Polish development assistance, the most promising areas of economic cooperation, such as agricultural technologies, digitisation of public services, mining and energy, as well as student exchange and people-to-people contacts.

The programme prepared for the ambassadors also covers talks on economic issues with representatives of selected ministries. This part of the programme will be hosted by Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński. The ambassadors will also attend meetings with Polish entrepreneurs active on the African market, which have been organised in cooperation with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. The presentation of Poland’s cooperation offer and the exchange of experiences will be complemented by a visit to the Royal Castle, where the ambassadors will learn about Polish history.
