The ministers discussed key items on Poland’s OSCE Chairmanship agenda from Tbilisi’s point of view. Minister Rau underlined the importance Poland will attach to mitigating and resolving protracted conflicts in the Organisation’s area. He also expressed determination to maintain the situation in Abkhazia and South Ossetia high on the OSCE agenda as well as to support the regions’ population, severely affected in the aftermath of the conflict.

Furthermore, the Polish top diplomat confirmed Poland’s support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and the need to carry on democratic reforms in this country. He also expressed his hope for progress in the Geneva International Discussions – a platform for talks on the consequences of the 2008 Georgian-Russian conflict, co-chaired by the OSCE, the EU, and the United Nations.
