Minister’s Rau visit to China

Issues discussed included the agenda of Polish—Chinese relations, the future of the „17+1” Initiative, the prospects of the EU-China cooperation. The Ministers exchanged opinions on issues of strategic importance for both states, including their views on sources of tension in global affairs, as well as areas of possible convergence.

The Ministers confirmed that the third meeting of China-Poland Intergovernmental Committee will be held in the second half of 2021.

Minster Rau shared the Polish assessment of the „17+1” Initiative. The ministers agreed that this format, after necessary adjustments, should be and important pillar of cooperation between Europe and China.

Minister Rau declared that Poland, as one of the beneficiaries of the post-1989 development of the world order, will continue to work with allies and partners to create and preserve conditions for peaceful international cooperation.
