Poland is deeply concerned by renewal of fighting in Northern Ethiopia. We urge all parties to immediately cease hostilities and look for peaceful solution at a negotiating table.

While in Stockholm, on 24-25 August 2022, Deputy Minister Szynkowski vel Sęk met with Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden Robert Rydberg, and Deputy Chair of the Committee on European Union Affairs Jessika Roswall, as well as MPs of the Parliamentary Group on NATO.

While in Oslo, the deputy foreign minister met with Norway’s MFA State Secretary Eivind Vad Petterson, State Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister Thomas Boe Hornburg, and Ingjerd Schou, Member of Parliament for the Conservative Party who sits on the Storting Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence as well as on the Norwegian-Polish Friendship Group.

22nd of August is the fourth International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief, established by the UN General Assembly on Poland’s initiative.

On 9 August 2022, on the 2nd anniversary of fraudulent elections in Belarus, the Royal Łazienki in Warsaw hosted the vernissage of a poster exhibition which refers to Belarusian society’s efforts to bring about a democratic change. Presented were the works awarded and distinguished during international White–Red–White competition.

Poland is watching the ongoing escalation in the Gaza Strip and around it with growing concern.

On 4 August 2022, Poland’s MFA summoned chargé d’affaires of Belarus Alexander Chesnovsky to lodge a protest against the continued repressions against journalists and representatives of civil society in Belarus.
