16.02.2022Belarusian Association of Journalists nominated for UNESCO’s World Press Freedom PrizeOn 15 February 2022, joined by forty-five other countries, including all EU member states, Poland put the Belarusian Association of Journalists forward for UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize. Many non-governmental organisations supporting journalists in their work across the globe also endorsed the nomination. Poland was in the group of countries that launched the initiative at UNESCO.

Its launch, along with U.S.-Russia bilateral talks and dialogue at the NATO-Russia Council, marks an important step intended to defuse the currently tense security situation and work out ways to prevent similar ones in the future.
