Another round of evacuation has taken place. Two coaches carrying 63 people left from Lviv. The transport took place through efforts of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv and the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Zbigniew Rau took part in the NATO foreign ministers’ meeting in Brussels on 4 March 2022. The session was also attended by the foreign ministers of Sweden and Finland, as well as the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The meeting’s agenda also included an address by the foreign minister of Ukraine. The session was entirely devoted to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the current security situation in Europe.

The EU foreign ministers were also joined by the heads of diplomacy of Ukraine, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The meeting was also attended by the NATO secretary general. Joint discussion was aimed at enhancing EU’s coordination with its partners.

On 2 March, Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau travelled to Geneva. The visit’s programme included participation in high-level segments of the 49th session of the Human Rights Council and the Conference on Disarmament as well as meetings with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, Director General of the International Organization for Migration António Vitorino, and President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer.

On 2 March 2022, Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz met with Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly in Warsaw.

As part of the third round of the Polish-Romanian intergovernmental consultations held in Warsaw on 3 March, Minister Zbigniew Rau met with Romania’s Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu.

Due to the aggression against independent Ukraine by the Russian Federation, a member of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS), the foreign ministers of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Sweden and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy – that is, all members of the Council except Russia – adopted a declaration on suspending it from the work of the organization on all levels, and suspend Belarus as a CBSS observer state.

Until this morning, Poland’s border with Ukraine was crossed by a total of 500,000 people. In the current situation of emergency, it is only natural that Poland is being chosen by those seeking refuge: not only Ukrainians but also the citizens of virtually every country, including students from Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

In recent days, false information about the alleged mistreatment of particular countries citizens by Polish and Ukrainian services has appeared in the public space. Manipulated photos and videos circulate on social media to discredit and tarnish the image of both Ukraine and Poland. The media have become another theatre of war, which is why we urge you not to be manipulated. The target of disinformation attacks is not only Ukraine, but also the Western world.
