The participation of Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński in today’s “Invest in Three Seas” forum in Tallinn was an opportunity to showcase the economic potential of Central and Eastern Europe and the Three Seas Investment Fund, an important instrument for financing infrastructure projects across the region. Hosted by the Office of the President of the Republic of Estonia, the meeting was attended by the initiative members’ government coordinators. The main target audience was business communities in the Baltic States and Poland.

On 22-23 April 2021, under the Trilogue format, Minister Zbigniew Rau met in Bucharest with his counterparts from Romania and Turkey, Bogdan Aurescu and Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, respectively. The ministers discussed cooperation within the North Atlantic Alliance, mainly in the context of preparations for the NATO summit in June. The diplomats also talked about the progressing implementation of the Trilogue cooperation programme adopted in 2020 and its possible extension into other thematic areas. They underlined good political and military cooperation of the three countries. “Our countries are the pillars of NATO’s Eastern Flank, standing in the front line of the Alliance and exposed to direct threats to their security,” pointed out Minister Rau, and added: “We agree on the need and the direction of North Atlantic Alliance’s further strategic adaptation, which includes starting work on the new Strategic Concept during next NATO summit.”

On 23 April 2021, Polish Ambassador to Moscow Krzysztof Krajewski was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. As previously announced, he was served a diplomatic note to the effect that five Polish diplomats were declared personae non gratae.

“I hope that the cooperation between our countries will continue to develop dynamically. The Czech Republic remains Poland’s strategic neighbour and ally,” stressed Minister Zbigniew Rau during his phone conversation with the minister of foreign affairs of the Czech Republic.

The video conference Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński held on Thursday with his Serbian counterpart Vladimir Maric focused on the practical aspects of economic diplomacy and the activity of the Polish diplomatic service in promoting Polish companies, products and services. The Serbian side asked Poland to share our experiences in this area as Serbia continues the overhaul of its economic diplomacy.

“Poland firmly believes in the high value of regional cooperation in the field of security. The OSCE provides us with the necessary support in our bilateral efforts and within other international organisations, in particular the EU, NATO, and the UN,” underlined Minister Rau during Helga Schmid’s visit to Poland.

The Three Seas Initiative, its foundations and goals, as well as its significance for the development of transport, energy and digital infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe were the key issues addressed by the MFA Undersecretary of State Paweł Jabłoński during today’s seminar on the cooperation of the Visegrad Group countries and Japan in the field of connectivity. The meeting was hosted by Poland’s Embassy in Tokyo, in cooperation with the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Josai University. It is a cyclical event organised each time by the state currently presiding over the V4.

This year, Poland and Romania celebrate the centenary of the conclusion of the “Convention on Defensive Alliance between the Republic of Poland and the Kingdom of Romania.”

“For over seventy years, Poland and Vietnam have enjoyed a friendly and multifaceted relationship, and it is exceptionally good at present. I hope cooperation between our two countries will continue to develop vigorously, which will be evidenced by successive high-level visits,” emphasised Minister Zbigniew Rau during a phone call on Tuesday.
