08.06.2021The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland expresses outrage at the information that Belarusian authorities have established a new holiday, – Day of People’s Unity – on 17 September. Founding Belarusian political history on the legacy of the Hitler–Stalin pact is utterly incomprehensible. This gesture, in line with Russia’s efforts to reinterpret very difficult history of our region, will seriously hinder Belarusian dialogue and understanding with neighbouring countries as well as all other European countries.

08.06.2021On 7-8 June 2021, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Paweł Jabłoński paid a working visit to Egypt. He was accompanied by delegations of the MFA, the Ministry of Economic Development, Labour and Technology (headed by Secretary of State Grzegorz Piechowiak) and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (headed by President of the Board Krzysztof Drynda). The main items on the agenda were political and economic consultations at Egypt’s MFA. The talks covered Polish-Egyptian bilateral relations with special focus on economic relations, cultural, academic and scientific cooperation (including support for Polish archaeologists) as well as current events in the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Middle East. After the consultations, a Polish-Egyptian visa exemption agreement was signed for holders of diplomatic passports.

08.06.2021On 8 and 9 June, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk will visit Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia. The German visit will take place on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Treaty on Good Neighbourship and Friendly Cooperation between Poland and Germany. The purpose of the visit is to draw attention to the need for proper implementation of the Treaty as regards the availability of Polish language teaching for the Polish community in Germany and the representation of the Polish side at bodies which manage memorial sites, as well as to express Poland’s expectation of a prompt launch of renovation effort on the Polish House in Bochum.

07.06.2021On 7-18 June 2021, at the request of the OSCE and by the decision of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Poland will carry out operation of vaccinating the staff of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine. It is yet another action of this kind, following the vaccination campaign at NATO Headquarters, in which Poland assists an international organisation in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

07.06.2021- The migration situation in Cyprus has worsened considerably during the last three years. Today, we respond to the appeal of the Cypriot government by sending modular homes to the country - underlined MFA Secretary of State Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk in relation to the Polish aid transport to Cyprus. - Providing our EU partner and the local refugee community with modular homes is not only a gesture of solidarity but also Poland’s contribution to creating effective, humanitarian and secure European migration policy - added deputy head of Polish diplomacy Paweł Jabłoński.

It is only through joint efforts that we can fulfill our vision of the Baltic Sea by 2030, ensuring its growth and the prosperity and security of our societies,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau during today’s videoconference of the Council of the Baltic Sea States foreign ministers and the High Representative of the European Union, which concluded the Lithuanian presidency of the Council.
