On 12 August, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz held a phone talk with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Ayman Safadi. The diplomats discussed bilateral relations between Poland and Jordan and the current situation in the region. The phone call was arranged on the initiative of the Jordanian side.

“My visit here on the occasion of the centenary of signing the peace treaty between Latvia and Russia in 1920 confirms close ties between Warsaw and Riga. We want to share the most important moments of our history,” highlighted the chief of Polish diplomacy during his visit to Latvia.

“Georgians’ efforts to preserve their statehood in the face of the developments of 2008 were an example of their fight for dignity,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs Jacek Czaputowicz in his video message during an event organised by the Warsaw Rising Museum and the Embassy of Georgia in Warsaw to commemorate the 12th anniversary of Russia’s aggression against Georgia.

“The crisis provoked by COVID-19 has shown that Poland and India maintain a close bilateral relationship based on mutual respect and commitment to freedom and democracy. I would like to stress that the recent months have also proved that our countries can count on each other in times of particularly difficult challenges,” Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz said at a video conference with India’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Secretary (West) Vikas Swarup.

On the eve of the presidential elections, we firmly stand by the right of Belarusian people to exercise their fundamental freedoms, including electoral rights, and support the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus.

On 5 August, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz spoke on the phone with Charbel Wehbe, Lebanon’s newly appointed foreign minister. The Polish MFA head offered his condolences following the explosion in the Beirut port. The phone call was held on the initiative of the Polish side.

“We are sending international aid to Lebanon,” Deputy Minister Paweł Jabłoński said at a press conference held at the MFA on Wednesday.

On 3 August, 2020, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz met Professor Jacek Purchla to express gratitude and appreciation for his serving as the President of the Polish National Commission for UNESCO (2015-2020).
