“Comprehensive support of the Polish State for Poles in the East is one of the key goals of our policy towards Polish diaspora, and Polish community abroad may be the perfect ambassador of Polish identity,” underlined Deputy Foreign Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk during a conference at the History Meeting House in Warsaw.

“In the company of my fellow speakers, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Andrzej Milinkiewicz—people representing two generations of Belarusian opposition—it is difficult to propose solutions for the future of Belarus. Instead, I would prefer to express my admiration and appreciation for your courage and determination,” Minister Zbigniew Rau said at the Economic Forum in Karpacz during a discussion panel on the situation in Belarus and the future of changes in this country.

On Friday, MFA Undersecretary of State Marcin Przydacz took part in an informal UN Security Council meeting on the situation of human rights in Belarus, organised in an Arria formula.

- One of the priorities of Polish development cooperation with Ukraine is to support victims of the conflict in Donbas, - said Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński who took part in exercises run by Polish specialists for Ukrainian psychiatrists and psychologists.

Today, Minister Zbigniew Rau handed Prof. Michał Kleiber his nomination for the position of president of the Polish National Commission for UNESCO.

“The COVID-19 pandemic strengthens the importance of regional cooperation formats, both formal, like V4 and less formal, such as the Three Seas Initiative,” underlined the chief of Polish diplomacy during the Strategic Forum in Bled.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to announce the list of winners of “My most interesting online meeting with Poland,” a competition organised as part of the “Poland at your home” campaign. The competition welcomed the youngest members of the Polish community abroad: children and young people aged 7-18. The competition, together with the invitation to use the online offer prepared by Polish cultural institutions, was the MFA’s response to the current situation in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic and its restrictions. 172 works from 32 countries made it to the final stage, selected by Polish diplomatic and consular missions.

- Effective engagement in assisting Belarus will be the benchmark of the EU’s ambition to be an important global actor, - said Minister Zbigniew Rau during an informal meeting of the EU foreign ministers in the Gymnich formula in Berlin on 27-28 August 2020.
