Chief of Polish diplomacy Jacek Czaputowicz delivered Information of the Minister of Foreign Affairs on Polish foreign policy tasks in 2019 at the Sejm.

“Europe needs to adapt and to reform. The new European consensus should be based on the development of the single market, on a defence policy pursued in consultation with NATO, on a new migration policy that rules out relocations and focuses on external aspects, and maybe on a reformed industry policy. Europe needs to prove once again that it is the key to European prosperity and security,” said Deputy Minister Konrad Szymański at the 8th edition of the London School of Economics Polish Economic Forum.

Today, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz on behalf of the Polish President handed Bartosz Cichocki his nomination to the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine.

“Poland’s accession to NATO in 1999 marked a turning point for our region’s security,” Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said in Warsaw during his meeting with former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. In view of the 20th anniversary of Poland’s NATO membership, the Polish foreign policy chief thanked Madeleine Albright for her personal commitment to this process.

“We enjoy excellent relations in many areas, but we want to make this bond even better, stronger, and more all-encompassing,” said Deputy Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk at the third Polish-British Belvedere Forum in Warsaw.

The representatives of foreign and home affairs ministries of Poland and Germany met yesterday in Warsaw to discuss the preparations for the plenary session of Polish-German Round Table. The meeting focused on support for Polish diaspora in Germany and German community in Poland.

On 4-6 March, a study visit took place aimed at familiarising the staff of Norway's social services with Poland's system of protection and guardianship of minors.

On 6 March, the seminar "From London to Poznan: Anti-Corruption Pledges, Countering Organised Crime and the Role of Civil Society in the Berlin Process" brought together representatives of NGOs from the Western Balkans at the MFA Warsaw headquarters.

“It is a constant challenge for us to be able to translate the most important aspects concerning contemporary Poland, its achievements, potential, history, cultural and religious heritage, into the language of modern day public, which would be understood by people from various civilizational and cultural backgrounds,” said Deputy Minister Szynkowski vel Sęk at an opening of consultations on public and cultural diplomacy for the directors of Polish Institutes and representatives of Polish embassies in Europe.

Secretary of State for European Affairs Konrad Szymański met on 5 March 2019 with Jean-Charles Ellermann-Kingombe, Permanent Under-Secretary of State at the Danish Prime Minister's Office.
