Deputy Foreign Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski met today with US State Department China Coordinator and Deputy Assistant Secretary Mark Lambert.

On 11 March 2024, a ceremony took place to appoint the Committee’s new members selected from international law theoreticians and practitioners representing Polish academic and scientific centres.

Undersecretary of State Anna Radwan-Röhrenschef took part in a meeting of the Interministerial Team for the UN’s Women, Peace and Security Agenda and the implementation of the 2024–2029 National Action Plan.

The security situation in Europe, EU enlargement policy, and bilateral issues were the main topics of today’s talks between Deputy Foreign Minister Marek Prawda and Andreja Metelko-Zgombić, State Secretary for Europe in the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia.

Deputy Minister Anna Radwan-Röhrenschef took part in an event titled the Consulate of Women in Gdynia, organised by the city’s Deputy Mayor Katarzyna Gruszecka-Spychała. One of the main topics under discussion concerned efforts to increase women’s participation in political and social life.

“The modernisation of European defence obviously should not take place to the detriment of engagement in NATO. By strengthening the defence dimension of the European Union, which is an inevitable thing to do, we are not by any means looking to undermine NATO’s unique role for Poland and the entire system of European security,” the head of Polish diplomacy emphasised at today’s conference “Poland’s 25 Years in NATO. What if there was no Alliance...”. Hosted by the University of Warsaw, the event was held in connection with the 25th anniversary of Poland’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance.

Poland welcomes Sweden as the member state of the North Atlantic Alliance. It is a major event that strengthens the unity of the Euro-Atlantic community.

During his meeting with the diplomats, Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stressed that the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean are natural partners for one another, with strong historical and cultural ties, social and economic links, and a shared commitment to peace and multilateralism.

At the request of the Chinese side, Deputy Minister Wladyslaw T. Bartoszewski met Special Envoy of the Chinese Government for Eurasian Affairs, Ambassador Li Hui. The main topic of the meeting was the Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. Warsaw was one of several European capitals visited by the Chinese delegation to consult selected European partners.

The Polish Foreign Minister met with the ambassadors of the US, Canada, Japan, the UK, Germany, France and Italy for talks on the situation in Ukraine, sanctions against Russia and Belarus, the Gaza conflict, transatlantic relations, and Poland’s foreign policy towards global change.
