During the meeting, Minister Rau discussed the consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine for the international security architecture, referring to the threat of the use of chemical weapons in Ukraine and the need to provide support to Kyiv also by the OPCW.

25.05.2022Deputy Minister Przydacz takes part in meeting of the Council of the Baltic Sea States“As the Russian Federation resolved to withdraw from the Council of the Baltic Sea States, while Finland and Sweden decided to join NATO, the Baltic Sea region has found itself in a new political setting. All the member states of the Council have welcomed the applications submitted by Helsinki and Stockholm. The accession of the two countries will reinforce the region’s security. In the wake of its 30th anniversary earlier this year, the Council of the Baltic Sea States is thus faced with a task of adapting itself to the new reality and redefining its priorities. It goes without saying that the Council has contributed to the growth and integration of the region, and to the sharing of knowledge and best practices.
