Minister Sikorski had an opportunity today to talk with his counterparts from Greece, Malta and Sweden.

During today's meeting, Minister Radosław Sikorski talked, among other things, about international support for Belarus and the issues related to the protection of human rights.

Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski received the Peace Light of Bethlehem, a symbolic flame from the Grotto of the Nativity in Bethlehem, handed to him by members of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association.

As endorsed by the Foreign Ministries of Canada, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, United Kingdom and the United States on 20 December 2023, the Tallinn Mechanism officially formalized.

Monday saw another round of Minister Sikorski’s consultations with foreign partners: Antonio Tajani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, and Ilia Darchiashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

On the inauguration day of the new government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski sent letters to President of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) Síofra O’Leary and to the members of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, declaring Poland’s will and determination to implement ECHR judgments, particularly those regarding the principles of the rule of law and independence of the judiciary.

In another round of talks with his counterparts across the world, Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski spoke on Friday with Hungary’s top diplomat, Peter Szijjártó. Key topics included Ukraine, cooperation prospects within the Visegrad Group, and migration-related issues.

In a next round of phone conversations, Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski spoke on Friday with his Spanish and Romanian counterparts.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that, in accordance with arrangements with the Prime Minister and in agreement with the Minister for the European Affairs, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to the European Union Andrzej Sadoś was recalled to Poland and exempt from the obligation to perform work at the Permanent Representation.

On Thursday, Radosław Sikorski, the head of Polish diplomacy, held further conversations with his counterparts. On his second day in office, the Polish minister of foreign affairs talked with the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, France, Slovakia and Estonia.
